If you're in the Lake Charles area, this is a great stop for the family. Many interesting facts and things to see. There's also a Planetarium along with an art gallery. Natural Science Center & Gallery are Free. Currently, the Planetarium admission fee is $5. Had a very fun time and really enjoyed the glow in the dark rock exhibit.

Amazing place with interesting exhibits for adults and kids. We took our granddaughters, ages 5-10, and they loved it. Over 10,000 carefully labeled seashells from around the world, dinosaur skeletons, bones, and fossils from the area and Texas, arrowheads and artifacts from old homesteads and the Karankawa Indians, beautiful carved ivory collection, gemstones and rocks, taxidermy area with Texas animals, and a hurricane simulator. Also, a small play area with interesting things to do. We visited the art gallery in the building, as well. Highly recommend this FREE activity! We did make a donation, however.

Really nice collections and free to visit. The paleontology hall and "dinosaur island" were impressive for a small museum and I've never seen so many types of seashells.

Such a cool little place! Loads of shells, a megalodon's jaws, a mosasaur skull, a triceratops skull, a few other cool fossils, and lots of neat minerals and geodes. Free to see and the volunteers are SO NICE!
