Florida Railroad Museum (Parrish): direkt am US 301 gelegenes Gelände mit einigen historischen Lokomotiven und Waggons der früheren Atlantic und der Gulf Coast Railroad aus der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Zudem kann man einen alten Schlafwagen besichtigen, dessen Innenausstattung sich allerdings in liederlichem Zustand befindet. Mit einem Zug mit einem offenem und einem geschlossenen Personenwaggon inlusive Snackbar und uniformierten Zugbegleitpersonal fährt man rund eine halbe Stunde auf gerader und unspektakulärer Strecke durch Wälder und Farmgelände zu einem zweiten Areal des Museums mit dem Waggon- und Reparatur-Depot, einem Eventgelände und einem kleinen Austellungsraum mit Exponaten zur Eisenbahngeschichte Floridas und zum Museum selbst, den man bis zur Rückfahrt des Zuges etwa 10 Minuten besichtigen kann. Nach max. 1,5 Stunden ist man wieder am Ausgangspunkt. Am Gelände sind ausreichend kostenlose Parkplätze vorhanden. Der Eintritts- bzw. Fahrpreis ist angesichts des Gebotenen mit 14 $ pro Erwachsenem etwas zu hoch.

We had a wonderful train ride through the country side to the North Pole. It was like being transported back to my childhood. The beautiful lights filled us with Christmas spirit. A great way to celebrate the holiday season. Great for kids and adults alike.

If you haven’t checked out this hidden gem in Parrish - you’re missing out!! Our friends & family love the annual pumpkin patch express & polar express. The ~20 minute ride each way is scenic and really enjoyable. They do all sorts of other events throughout the year from murder mystery rides to Thomas! Great for the whole family.

Polar Express was Top Notch!! This year out did last year! Ran smooth, cocoa was hot, cookies were fresh, seeing the whole train with Christmas lights was Brilliant!! The train ride was smooth and peaceful. Pulling up to the willow location all you see are beautiful lights and smiling faces and Santa waving. Sometimes the Grinch is even on the bridge. The fire pits are a hot spot where you can make S’mores, the reindeer food station is neat for little kids to make reindeer food to put out on Christmas Eve. You can have a shirt or a sweatshirt made with whatever design you choose and stop by the Pickle stand to snag you some really good pickles. Watch the grinch with the kids, some kids love him.. some are scared of him. But when the “snow” starts falling, every kid is in one place- where French is shooting snow out. There were new items in the toy show which is good for us that come every year. I only have one question…. What are you going to do next Bobby? ?

We dropped by the Florida Railroad Museum last minute and were very fortunate to be able to book two spots for a cab ride. What an experience! Our engineer, Evan, was incredibly nice and extremely knowledgeable. He fielded all of our questions and clearly had a deep passion for what he does, which made the ride even more enjoyable.

The museum itself, albeit small, is run by passionate volunteer staff, and it really shows in every aspect of the experience. The outdoor train cars are well-maintained and fun to explore, while the indoor seating car provides a comfortable and nostalgic atmosphere.

However, for the real experience, I highly recommend calling ahead to book a cab ride. It’s an unforgettable opportunity to see the railroad from the engineer’s perspective, and if you’re lucky, you might even have Evan as your guide!

This museum is a hidden gem for train enthusiasts and anyone looking for a unique adventure.

On a whim, we decided we wanted to do something different on a Saturday. I found this place on Google. I came opened minded not sure what to expect other than a train ride. Well, after visiting, I can say this is a really neat place! One of the most memorable things for me, was how friendly the volunteer staff was. They were so kind and helpful. It was hard to believe they were doing this unpaid. Everyone was so professional. The train ride was enjoyable. I did enjoy the model train a lot. I would absolutely recommend.

Experienced the train robbery show, and it was a delight! I could truly tell the volunteers enjoy putting on the show. They were also very interactive with the customers while riding the train. & very comical!
