We had a fantastic experience with Frankie and Peter at Island Sound for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour music. From the start, Frankie was incredibly thorough, taking the time to walk us through all the details of the audio setup, microphones, speakers, and song selections to ensure everything would run smoothly on the day. Thanks to his attention to detail, the music was played flawlessly on cue and at the perfect volume throughout.

Our guests loved the music, especially during cocktail hour, and we got so many compliments on how it added a beautiful touch to the atmosphere. We couldn’t be happier with the quality of service we received, especially at such a great price. We highly recommend Frankie and Island Sound for anyone looking for a professional and seamless DJ experience!

Highly recommend! Frankie Hagan is a true professional. He worked with the bride and groom so well to curate the music to their liking. No pun intended, but he didn't "miss a beat". He knew what to play for every part of the wedding, from the seating of the guests, ceremony, cocktail hour, and beyond. His song selection got the guests up and dancing for hours! I have rented DJ equipment from Island Sound a few times and my experience every time has been fantastic. They are incredibly professional and responsive. Their prices for rentals are very reasonable too. Whenever there is something that needs addressing they do their utmost to rectify it right away. Plus, they are friendly people and a pleasure to work with! Thank you Island Sound for making my events this year possible!! : )

Evan was the DJ for our daughters wedding and let me start by saying his energy was infectious. Outstanding job all night. He kept our dance floor moving and made the night fun for all ages. Very professional and detail oriented. He managed to incorporate games, activities and music throughout the night.

Frankie was our wedding DJ this past May and he was awesome! We met to go over all our music choices ahead of time and everything he did the day of was exactly what we discussed. He ensured our reception timeline ran smoothly and worked well with all our other vendors. Frankie was very professional and our guests loved the Anniversary Dance he recommended. I would recommend Frankie to any couple getting married or for any other event!

We used Evan from Island Sound for our Hope for Teens Prom and from the beginning it was easy!

The contracting and the pricing options were spot on! I really did appreciate them working with us to understand what a small nonprofit needed.

Evan came before the event to discuss logistics and had some great ideas! He was also very patient with the multitude of emails and questions. ?

The event itself was BEYOND our thoughts!! The music choices were amazing and the students were dancing all the way to the last song; even if the adults were exhausted!

We were pretty disappointed with our DJ from Island Sound. Leading up to the wedding the communication was okay, although we were supposed to get a free light projection which we did not receive. When we were put in contact with our DJ a few weeks out from the wedding (Shawn Minor) he was difficult to get in touch with and was over an hour late to our scheduled phone call. On our wedding, there were many awkward pauses. For example, the recessional music was not played for a good twenty seconds as we stood there. Then he did not do the grand entrance into the reception the way we asked, (written down and discussed verbally over the phone) which led to more awkwardness. For the reception music, there was first at least thirty seconds of silence as we stood there waiting for our first dance, then he begins to play the wrong song (once again, our song was written down weeks before and even verbally confirmed over the phone). Finally he plays the right song after more delay. Many (if not all) of our must play and requested songs were not played, while random songs we did not know were. I won’t even take the time to write the rest of it, but you can imagine many more awkward moments occurred with even stopping music in the middle of songs and silence between some songs. As a DJ, I feel as though that is your one job and a Spotify playlist with cross fade would have been better. We can’t speak for all the DJ’s contracted with Island Sound, but we would not recommend Shawn Minor.

I don’t even know where to begin for this review. The first issue arose when I walked down the aisle with DJ playing the wrong song. Unfortunately I didn’t notice until I began walking which meant it couldn’t be fixed. Following this, during the reception the DJ failed to play our must plays and our “please play” songs and instead played a variation of Brittany spears and random 80s and 90s songs which while they aren’t bad was not what we wanted.

Lastly, at the end of the night my husband and I were supposed to have a last private dance. Before we began an island sound employee approached us asking to pay them. My fiance stated he’d already sent the credit authorization form 2 times and that neither of us had cards on us. Instead of letting us enjoy our dance he began to argue that that wasn’t true. We asked if we could bring a check in the morning or Venmo which they declined and instead said we couldn’t leave the property until we paid them. I completely understand this but they also could’ve approached my WEDDING PLANNER or parents who had ALL of this information. They then proceeded to tell us to dance while standing and staring at both my husband and I who were extremely uncomfortable until my mom was able to come and pay.

When we got back and had access to our phones we both checked and confirmed we HAD sent the form not once but TWICE!

Do with this information what you will, but I personally would NOT book island sound for your wedding.
